Kanch Mandir | About Kanch Mandir

As the name suggests, Kanch Mandir is a temple built entirely from mirrors and glass. Built by the “Cotton King” Sir Hukamchand Seth in the 20th century, it is also known as the Seth Hukamchand Temple. Basically a Jain temple, the structure showcases splendid floor, pillars, walls, ceiling, and everything else adorned with glass. The site is now an object of fascination and interest for people who visit from all parts of the country.
Kanch Mandir stands today as the finest specimen of art & architecture, leaving the visitors spellbound with the architectural skills and imaginations from the bygone era. Thousands of mirrors with patterned ceramic tiles decorate the shrine, enhancing the charisma of the temple. Even the decorative articles and artwork inside the complex is crafted from glass like the Chinese lantern-type glass lamps, glass cut chandeliers and other articles.
